Easter Weekend

I have gotten some requests to tell my horrific story about a recent blind date I recently went on. I think I will refrain from telling the story for now as I am still recovering from the experience.

Easter has always been a somber holiday for me because it marks the end of the holiday season. It began last fall with Thanksgiving, I went home to see my family and friends and partake in a bountiful meal my saintly mother prepared for our family.

Family is important to me and it always has been. I value the time I spend with them because I know that when I graduate from college I might take a job that will require me to move out of North Dakota. I frequently call home and talk to Mama Van Dyke. She knows everything about me and she keeps me grounded and focused from 120 miles away.

When you are eating Easter dinner with your family, step back at take a gander from the outside looking in and count your blessings.
